News from Baptist Progress
What resources can we provide?
Baptist Progress is expanding our ministry to the churches of the BMA of Texas. We want to be the ministry resource department of the BMA of Texas in order to better assist our churches. Some resources we plan to provide to churches during the 2020-2021 associational year and in the years ahead include our Every Sunday Bulletin Service, Ministry Connection Workshops, intentional interim pastor training and website development and hosting. We have also have an agreement with Brotherhood Mutual Insurance to provide churches and ministries with an insurance source.
Here's what we would like to know?

Baptist Progress to once more offer Ministry Connection Workshops
By JERRY FULTON
Baptist Progress Editor
This editor’s vision is to lead Baptist Progress to become the ministry resource department for the Baptist Missionary Association of Texas. In keeping with that vision, Baptist Progress is bringing back Ministry Connection Workshops for the 2020-2021 associational year. The first workshop, Healthy Church Solutions will be presented at the BMA of Texas Building, located at 632 Farley Street in Waxahachie, Dec. 1. The time of the workshop is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with lunch included for only $10. The $10 fee covers the cost of the lunch. Read more here.
Offerings needed for Association Expense Fund
The BMA of Texas has an Association Expense Fund that pays for several items throughout the year including the audit of the fund, legal fees, supplies to promote the United Thanksgiving Offering and the state meeting, Administrative Committee expenses, speakers and other expenses for the state meeting and the designing and printing of minute books.
The offering received at the state meeting each year as well as offerings mailed to the BMA of Texas office with registration forms provides for a large portion of the Association Expense Fund. Thus far, the total of mailed-in offerings is very low compared to previous years.
The suggested amount for each church to give to the Association Expense Fund/Minute Money is $150. If your church can help, please send an offering marked "Association Expense Fund" to BMA of Texas, P.O. Box 73, Waxahachie, TX 75168.
BMLA Trustees to nominate Fulton as director
By BMLA TRUSTEES
As you are aware, Bro. Jerry Burnaman, who served as the business manager of the Baptist Missionary Loan Association (BMLA) for 22 years, was called home to be with the Lord Aug. 13, 2020. We mourn our loss, but praise God for the fact that Bro. Burnaman is at peace with Him in Glory. During Bro. Burnaman’s years of service, assets of the BMLA more than doubled standing now at $16.5 million.
Due to Bro. Burnaman’s passing, the BMLA Trustees were tasked with finding a new leader for the department. The trustees met Sept. 19, 2020, and discussed several options. Prior to Bro. Burnaman’s passing, he had initiated a succession plan for when he planned to retire. Read more here.
