              DiscipleGuide Executive Director Resigns

              Picture
              Dr. Kevin Clayton
Dr. Kevin Clayton has resigned as the executive director of DiscipleGuide Church Resources to become the senior pastor of Bethel Baptist Church, Fulton, Mississippi. Following is his letter of resignation:

It has been my honor and privilege to serve my Lord and the BMAA as Executive Director of DCR for the last five years. These have been years wrought with many changes in this organization brought on by the merger, as well as by external forces in the publishing industry. Even in changing times, we all know assuredly that our God changes not and His Word is eternally established. The methods utilized in taking “all the Word to all the world” may be changing, but the mission remains the same. What a privilege and responsibility we have as believers to fulfill the mandate of the Great Commission!

After eight years of service to our association in a director’s role (three years in North American missions), I have reached the inescapable conclusion that I still possess “a pastor’s heart.” After months of prayer regarding God’s will for my life, I have accepted the call of the Bethel Baptist Church of Fulton, Mississippi, to serve as their Senior Pastor, effective January 1, 2012.  Though my family and I are truly excited by this opportunity, we are grieving over leaving our DiscipleGuide family and the many friends we’ve made in Texarkana. DiscipleGuide will always be dear to my heart and vital to the work of our association. All the members of our Board of Directors and every employee at DCR will abide in my prayers forever. They are an amazing group of Christian workers!

              Kevin W. Clayton, D.Min.
              Executive Director

DiscipleWay Training Scheduled for January in Little Rock, Arkansas

              Picture
On Jan. 12-14, 2012, people will be gathering from across our work to attend DiscipleWay Training at Oak Park Baptist Church in Little Rock. Originally this particular training was requested by Larry Barker to coincide with the Missions Symposium to make it feasible for the North American church planters to be trained while they are in the state. It was determined, however, since several trainers would be available that the event would be opened to anyone and everyone who would like to attend.

It is important that registrations are in by the deadline of DECEMBER 31. Lodging, food orders, printing of materials and scheduling of trainers are all based on these numbers. Online information for the training can be found at www.discipleway.com.
