Texas Sunbeams gathered on July 19, 2025, in the Jacksonville College Student Union Building. The theme verse was Psalm 34:8: “O taste and see that the Lord is good.”

Those attending were greeted at registration with a “Sweet Welcome” of breakfast and crafts. Attendees from five churches included eight Sunbeams, nine sponsors, four Galileans and three visitors.

The “Harmonious Opening” was led by President Rebekah Low and Vice President Railynn Jackson.  Prayer (Vera Koonce) and the singing of the Sunbeam song followed. The program was introduced and it highlighted the ways one can experience God’s sweetness through our senses—His words (speech), flowers (smell), light (sight), music (sound), touch (feeling), meditation (thoughts) and friendship (emotions). The theme song, “God Is So Good,” reflected these blessings beautifully.

At 11 a.m. the children embarked for “Delightful European Excursions” with Mission Tour Guide, Ava Pool. Traveling by “train,” the children visited Portugal, France, and Czechia with engineers, Rebekah and Railynn. Each Sunbeam received a souvenir bag and a “’Tis So Sweet” Passport stamped at each border crossing. Ava Pool brought a lesson that not only introduced missionaries and their mission fields but also incorporated each country’s flag, landmarks, food and souvenirs—bringing the experience to life.

Lunch at noon was a scrumptious meal of pizza, salad and desserts provided by Shera Clair. Following lunch, State Sunbeam alumni Elizabeth Heflen shared her talent through an original song, “The Honey Song.” She taught the chorus to the children who sang joyfully alongside her. The children resumed their European journey afterwards with visits to Romania, Moldova, and Ukraine before returning for the “Harmonious Closing” at 2 p.m.

Snacks were shared and everyone sang “The Honey Song” one final time.

It was a blessing to have State WMA President Cindy Allen attend the meeting and to have her present each Sunbeam with a certificate of service prepared by their sponsor. She closed with a prayer for the Sunbeams. Each child also received a small duck from the “Sweet Pond” as a reminder of God’s goodness and the sweet gifts He gives every day. Vera Koonce offered the closing prayer. A final total for the 2024–2025 project for Larry Woods with Ukrainian Missions is $1,101.69. Praise our sweet Lord!
