On April 7, The Master’s Builders returned to StoneRidge Baptist Camp in Smithville, Arkansas. Camp Director Scott Small needed help with several projects around the camp. All these projects involved building updates, remodeling and making things safer for campers in the upcoming camp season. The Master’s Builders had 10 men from the group at this job and were also blessed to have a small group come to help one day from Ramsey Heights Baptist Church, Batesville, Arkansas. The Master’s Builders had the privilege to work at their church in Sept. 2024.

Each job allows this group to make lifelong friends with each church family. Thank you to Pastor Brian Coats, Danny and Denise Watson and Cody and Angie Stevens. Danny and Denise also brought a wonderful homemade lunch for all to enjoy. What a blessing! Many folks know the Master’s Builders love to share a good meal with family and friends. Also, a dear brother-in-Christ came for a visit, Mike Shelton, from Pleasant Grove Baptist, Annieville, Arkansas. He has been a special blessing to the Master’s Builders through the years as they’ve worked at StoneRidge Camp, lending a hand on many projects. It is so good to have encouragement from fellow workers, brothers and sisters in Christ as we all endeavor to labor in His fields.

Work for the Master’s Builders at StoneRidge included:
  • Strengthening some of the upper bunk mattress supports with a thick plywood sheet to make them safer.
  • Replacing some of the wood in restroom stalls in six cabins. This wood was touching the floor allowing for water damage. The Builders cut out all the damaged wood and replaced with new boards and metal supports.
  • Building two restroom doors in the restrooms behind the nurse’s station.
  • Installing new shelves in one of the storage buildings.
  • Replacing portions of the wall and the counter support boards of the serving counter in the kitchen of the main dining area which had water damage.
  • Installing paneling in one of the new staff/evangelist cabins built last year.
  • Extending the roof out over the steps on the back porch at the director’s house to prevent slipping on the steps during heavy snow or ice.
  • Rebuilding a small podium used for small group teaching.

These were all much needed improvement projects for the camp as the 2026 camp season will soon begin. These jobs called for a lot of bending, lifting, lying on the floor and a lot of patience for the Master’s Builders. Thank you, Lord, for being with these men each day and giving them strength as they serve in this ministry.

The Master’s Builders always look forward to working at StoneRidge Camp (Jonesboro Association). Scott and Myrtie Small and their family have become “family” to this group, and it is always such a blessing to see them. They take such good care of the camp and it’s always a working “family reunion” when the Builders show up. Scott and Myrtie have been at StoneRidge Camp for 17 years, and during this camp season they are praying that the 2,000th soul will be saved! Praise God for this camp and its kingdom impact!

The next job for the Master’s Builders will be at Camp Garwood in Garwood, Missouri, starting on May 4. The Builders were so blessed to work there for the first time last year and are so excited to go back to help the camp once again. Garwood is east of Van Buren, Missouri, and it is such a beautiful area for a church camp. If you are in the area, come by and visit. The Master’s Builders would love to meet you and tell you more about this ministry. Please pray for the work that will be done there during their two-week stay. Also, please pray that the Lord will call more workers and that they will follow His leadership and come alongside this group in this ministry. Just come and see what they do if you can. They are always willing to do whatever the Lord has for them at these church camps. You can learn more about The Master’s Builders by “Following” them on Facebook. “Like” the “The Master’s Builders” (arbor logo) and you can follow all the details of each job, including pictures and “extra activities” when they are not working.
