A Word From Your Missionaries

By HEITH MITCHELL
Executive Director of Missions
Picture
One of the real accountability strengths within the BMA is our trustee governance of ministries. These trustees come from our churches and are elected at our annual meeting. These trustees take seriously the responsibility to represent the churches of the BMA in stewarding a God orchestrated ministry. I have been a first-hand witness of their contribution in your Texas missions this last decade.

From Time to Time Part 6

By JASON CURRY
President, TBHC

HOW CHURCHES PARTNER FOR MINISTRY
If you asked a church member fifty years ago how their church “partnered in ministry,” you likely would have heard words like “sending, supporting or sponsoring”. Today, the language has shifted to “collaborating, sharing and co-laboring.” That change tells a story, not of drifting away from faithfulness, but of growing deeper into it.

Who Makes Up a Board of BMAT Trustees?

By EDDIE MARSH
Baptist Progress Writer
Picture
“Can I have your lunch?” The setting was a time when our Lord had spoken to a large crowd. The owner of the lunch was a little boy, and the lunch was five loaves and two fish. But when they were made available to the Master, amazing things happened. One of the messages that we glean from the story is the importance of giving what we possess to the Lord.

Sunbeam Retreat and District Reports

By VERA KOONCE
Texas State Sunbeam Promoter
Picture
Have you ever been on an odyssey? It can mean a long wandering or a series of travels. It can be a literal trip or a personal challenge in learning. Our Texas State Sunbeam Odyssey will be a series of imaginary travels to meet children who lived in Bible days. It will be a personal challenge to learn how we are like those children. God can use children today, just as he did those children long ago.

Please join our Texas State Sunbeam Odyssey on July 11 from 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Rosewood, Gilmer. Our meeting will overlap with the Liberty District WMA and GMA meeting. We have a full day planned!

The Master’s Builders Build an Ark

By NELDA MALONE
The Master's Builders Reporter
Picture
The Master’s Builders began work on job #199 on May 4 at Camp Garwood, Missouri. Camp Garwood is just east of Van Buren, Missouri. Van Buren is located on the Current River in a beautiful Ozark Mountain setting. It was so good to see Camp Director Chris Polk (pastor of Matthews Missionary Baptist Church) and his wife Laura again. The Master’s Builders worked at Camp Garwood last April for the first time and helped build a 20 by 60-foot building for a nurses’ station with living quarters on one side and two additional living quarters on the other side for prophet/evangelist quarters. This building also serves as the registration and check-in for the camp and was well used last camp season.
