Heaven’s 27 Camp Safety Act Impacts Daniel SpringsBy WHITNEY SPARKS
Baptist Progress Writer Late-night talks, swimming, devotions, and life-changing moments all happen at church camp. These powerful experiences are at the heart of why church camp matters.
Church camp is more than just fun and games. For many, it can mean the difference between everlasting life and eternal separation from Christ. During a worship service at camp, a child might hear the gospel for the first time. My husband and I witnessed our two boys walk the aisle to profess their salvation while attending church camp. read more... |
How Meaningful Life Course Connects Students at Jacksonville CollegeBy EMILY SIMPSON
Baptist Progress Editor Loving relationships are something that every person on earth needs. Throughout our lives, we feel the weight of their importance at the best and worst of times. For college students it can be tricky. Those relationships must often be rediscovered as a new era of life begins. However, for Jacksonville College students, they don’t have to search hard to find those connections.

Blessed Beyond the DroughtJOSEPHINE'S STORY
Simondo Village, Zambia When I first heard about the Bible studies happening in our area, I was curious. I had heard people whisper that the Makuwa—the white missionaries—were teaching about a God who forgives sins and gives eternal life. I had spent my whole life fearing spirits, offering sacrifices, and doing what our traditions demanded. But inside, I always felt empty and afraid. So one day, I decided to go.

Guided by GraceJUAN CARLOS RIVERA'S STORY
Costa Rica We live in a very remote place, and for many years our lives felt marked by limitation. I, Juan Carlos, cannot walk and depend on a wheelchair. My wife Martha can walk, but because she is visually impaired, she cannot see the path ahead. Each day, we faced our challenges together: I would guide the way, and she would push my chair. It was our simple rhythm of survival.

When Light Knocked on My DoorA STORY FROM JOSHUA AND MEAGAN PHIRI'S MINISTRY
Zambia They used to come to me with fear in their eyes.
They called me N’kayi—the one who speaks with spirits. I held the charms, the chants, the power. Or so it seemed. Mothers brought sick children to my doorstep. Men asked me to curse their enemies. I wore fear like a crown. But no one ever asked how I slept at night. read more... |

Ukraine I had been at my position for ninety-two days. Ninety-two days of holding the line, waiting, and wondering if any of us would make it out alive. I’m an infantryman from the Donetsk direction. Our unit was defending a school building shaped like the Ukrainian letter “П.” It was supposed to be a strong position—but soon we were completely surrounded.

A Night to RememberBy CHRIS DRIVER
Baptist Progress Writer There was a night 2,000 years ago that was unlike any in human history. It was the night when shepherds quaked, angels proclaimed, Bethlehem slept and the Savior of the world was born. It was the night when God came near and clothed Himself in mortality, when God became one of us in order to save us. It was the night that would change the world, but along with Bethlehem the whole world missed it.

New WMA President Reports on Yearly Activity from 2025By JOHNNIE ROSS
WMA President Last year our Texas WMA had a very active role in both a successful GMA retreat and a “sweet” Texas Sunbeam meeting. We sponsored the Texas Ladies’ Retreat, raised funds for TBHC, made a sizable donation to help National GMA officers (three of them from Texas) go on a mission trip to Mexico, celebrated the opening of the newly renovated Buckner Chapel at Jacksonville College (which we supported financially through our past project), and loved on pastors and wives at the annual BMAT Pastors Retreat.
