Emily Simpson: Baptist Progress Editor

​We are excited to announce that Emily Simpson is our new Baptist Progress editor. Emily will be in charge of piecing together the paper that you love. She has a few degrees that make her more than qualified for this position. She has an associate degree in journalism from Tyler Junior College, a bachelor’s degree in video production from Stephen F. Austin State University and finally a master’s degree in marketing from East Texas A&M, formally known as Texas A&M Commerce.
 
Emily is also deeply rooted in the BMA. She grew up attending many BMA churches, including New Harmony, Tyler. She and her husband, Spencer, have faithfully served BMA ministries for years. Emily has served many summers at Daniel Springs Baptist Camp, where she worked as a summer missionary. She currently serves as a trustee for the Baptist Publishing House and serves alongside her husband, Spencer Simpson, at Redeemer’s Love in Houston, a BMA church he helped plant and currently serves as pastor.
Emily brings experience, creativity and genuine love for the BMA churches. She brings a fresh perspective and we are excited to welcome her as a part of the Baptist Progress team.
